The Story

The Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center was built to strengthen the cultural, social, and economic vitality of the tri-state region by making the arts available, affordable, and accessible to everyone.

By day, students from kindergarten through college use the Center’s classrooms, practice areas, audio and video studios, and performance spaces to receive world-class instruction and to refine their talent and skills. At night, the Center serves as a place where individuals and organizations can meet, learn, rehearse, perform, and enjoy the arts.

Resident programs and organizations connected to the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center include the Midland Borough School District, the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, the Community College of Beaver County, the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, the Henry Mancini Arts Academy, and the Beaver County Arts Education Consortium. The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will play an annual series of concerts at Lincoln Park, and the Center is also developing a resident professional theatre company to produce Broadway-caliber plays and musicals.

In conjunction with the Henry Mancini Arts Academy (a program of the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center), 12 Beaver County school districts have created the Beaver County Arts Education Consortium (BCAEC) to provide enhanced arts education opportunities for students and educators. The Consortium is a model for sharing the burden and increasing the benefits of arts education, with services being provided to students in grades K-12 both at the school district and at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.

A key focus of the Consortium is the All-County Musical. Students attending BCAEC high schools in Beaver County (grades 9-12) are eligible to participate in the All County Musical. The production will be a fully realized Broadway style show with a complete professional staff. Student performers, musicians, and technicians will have the opportunity to work with a professional director, choreographer, musical director and design staff. They will receive in-depth theater training while learning about the theatrical process from audition, through casting, rehearsal and performance. Students are also eligible to participate as a musician, technician or as an apprentice to the artistic staff.

This year’s production: “Grease”
